I first demoed this track as my first ever project in Garage Band, February of 2009. I was inspired to bring it to the studio and because I had used the trumpet as a sound on Garage Band, I felt compelled to get a true player: my good friend from high school and musician, Charlie Burchill.
This song is heavily influenced by the jazz drumming styles I learned from my oldest brother and percussionist, Dan Parent and the many instructors at the Shell Lake Jazz Camp in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. It is my personal favorite. :)
lyrics
WORDS WITHOUT MEANING
(N. Parent)
Nylon stockings, pulled off; slower talking.
To never realize, we all were hypnotized again.
Curses take on meaningless new forms.
Words out of open mouths; teeth smile at something false. Oh, man.
We are not litter, cast into chambers.
Sonically unamused; mentally, all abused with hate.
Your words are paving a path with no ending insight.
